Great blog
If you haven’t already, check out The Armed Citizen. It’s a blog with an account of crimes stopped each day by, well, armed citizens (thus the name). Quite often, the bad guys get exactly what they deserve. You definitely won’t find most of these stories on CNN (although you should, but that’s another story). Most of them seem to be pulled from local sources. Reading the posts on this blog every day always makes me just a little bit happier.
